Brixton Topcats 58 (Da Silva 13, Nelson/Cooney 11)
Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters powered their way to a third league win of the season as they defeated Brixton Topcats 94-58.
Steph Gandy and Helen Naylor netted 17 points apiece to lead the Hatters, while 2012 Olympian Julie Page added 15 points on debut having re-joined the club this week. The Hatters made a fast start as they made a 15-4 opening to the game, and never looked back in a convincing performance.
Sheffield’s lead was at nine points at the end of the opening period, but briefly grew to 20 points in the second as they went into the half-time break with a commanding advantage. Another strong quarter after the interval saw the lead continue to rise for the home side and the Hatters extended their advantage beyond 30 points with a dominant close to the third.
The final winning margin was 36 points as Sheffield improved to a 3-1 mark in the WBBL Championship to leave them a win behind the top three.
For the Topcats, Vanessa Da Silva had 13 points as they fell to their fifth league defeat of the season and second in as many days.
