Brixton Topcats 58 (Wade-Fray 21, Da Silva 9, Charles 7)
Sevenoaks Suns 65 (Pressley 18, Royo Torres 17, James 11)
Brixton Topcats fall just short in the Quarter-Finals of the WBBL Trophy after a narrow lose to Sevenoaks Suns 58-65.
In a game of runs, the Suns put together a strong finish to the third quarter to go into the final period with a double-digit advantage, and they were able to hold on for the win.
Chantelle Pressley again led from the front with an 18-point haul, while Beatriz Royo Torres added 17 points to help set up a last eight tie with the defending champions, Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters.
Pressley netted six points to give her side their first lead before the Topcats went on a 9-0 run to take early control. The home side hit back with the next seven capped by a three from Jade Blackburn to make it 16-15.
Brixton regained the lead with the final four points of the first quarter and the lead continued to change hands throughout the second period.
A run of eight straight points from Sevenoaks gave them the edge heading into the half-time break and they picked up where they left off when play resumed as a 9-2 start to the third helped establish a double-digit advantage.
Brixton battled back with a 7-0 response to cut the gap back to four points as it had been at half-time. However, Rachel James netted a 3-pointer to cap another 9-2 run to close the third quarter and give the Suns a comfortable 11-point cushion.
Jenaya Wade-Fray finished with a game-high of 21 points for the Topcats but their late fightback fell short as although they took the final quarter 14-10, they ran out losing 58-65.
